In this weekend’s preview for Swansea v Everton read up on my prediction along with analysis for the match in week 17 of the Premier League. Included with each match preview are statistics and betting odds to help with your own predictions.
Swansea has not had the same fortune they had last season, but sit in a respectable 10th place with 20 points. This, however, is still eleven points behind Everton who are in fifth. Perhaps the best stat for Swansea this weekend is that they are currently unbeaten in their past five home matches in the Premier League. In this time they have also kept three clean sheets. Against Norwich last week they struggled to get many shots with only two of their ten shots on target with one goal; this, despite the fact that they dominated possession with 63%.
Everton are now unbeaten in their last nine Premier League matches with their single loss of the season coming away to Manchester City back at the start of October. Everton has played in four 0-0 draws this season and have also kept a league high eight clean sheets. In their last six matches they have scored 13 goals while allowing five. They are also tied with Southampton for allowing the fewest goals this season with just 15 given up. They will be without Gerard Deulfeu, but could have Leighton Baines back.
My prediction is for an Everton win to keep their good run of results going. Everton have had a sound defensive record this season and have been starting to score more lately, including four last week in a match that they really didn’t play that well in. Swansea will need to be able to control play and create quality chances if they want to get a result.
Betting Odds: Swans win: 2.99-3.10; Draw: 3.34-3.42; Everton win: 2.42-2.50
Form: Swansea (D, W, L, W, D, D) Everton (D, D, W, W, D, W)
Prediction: Swansea City 0 – 2 Everton
