Norwich City finished a somewhat respectable 11th last season and in the 2013-14 Premier League season are hoping to improve on this. Last year they were sucked into the relegation battle briefly, but were able to pull themselves up and out of it.
Norwich’s business in the summer transfer window has been good and has included trying to get in some better options up front, especially after sending Grant Holt to Wigan. In his place they have picked up Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Gary Hooper and last season also got Luciano Becchio. This season Norwich’s options up front are much better and should result in more goals, especially more from their strikers, considering that their second and third top scorers last year were midfielders Robert Snodgrass with seven and Anthony Pilkington with five.
Chris Hughton does have plenty of midfield options available to him including youngster Nathan Redmond who is a player to watch for. Defensively they were solid for parts of the season but will be hoping to keep John Ruddy healthy for a full season along with central defender Michael Turner, both of which were absolute quality players when they played.
My prediction for Norwich in the 2013-14 EPL season is a mid table finish with the possibility of pushing for top ten even. They have a bit more depth this year, but still will have a difficult time competing in both the Premier League and cup tournaments.
