Premier League Preview for Manchester City v West Ham United along with Predictions for the matches on week 35 of the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week. You can also check out the weekly EPL TV Schedule.
Manchester City comes into Saturday’s game off the back of a loss to Tottenham which means they will not be retaining the Premier League title, as it will go to their cross town rivals instead. West Ham have had some good results lately including their 2-2 draw against EPL Champions Manchester United.
In last weekend’s match Mancini was tactically manhandled by Andre Villas Boas leading to Spurs scoring their three goals in seven minutes. This is perhaps the biggest difference between this year’s team and last season. Last year Mancini was able to provide answers late in games and pull out wins, this year it is not coming off for him.
Facing West Ham will be a different story. I do feel that West Ham has a chance in this match mostly because of the after effects of City losing out on the title, especially so early. They play a physical, direct game, but I do think that the City players are able to handle this, particularly with Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany, either of whom could take care of Andy Carroll.
My prediction in Saturday’s game is for a Manchester City win. I think it will be a close match and West Ham will be pushing them hard. After having come so close to beating Manchester United the other week, they will have the confidence to go to the Etihad and play hard.
Man City (W, L, W, W, W, L) 2 – 1 West Ham (L, W, D, D, D, W)
