This is a match that is almost a preview of the May 11th FA Cup final. There are several differences here though, mainly that there will be an actual home team and that this match could make a huge difference in the relegation fight.
Manchester City played a high tempo, high pressure game against Chelsea on Sunday and looked very good doing so. They really should be without Sergio Aguero after his awful two footed lunge at David Luiz. Instead he will be available thanks to the failure of both the referee and the FA.
Wigan have continued to make a habit of coming up in big matches, especially at the end of the season (i.e. last year’s win over Manchester United around this time). They have started to come good lately and getting much needed results, not to mention their incredible FA Cup run.
This is a match that I am giving the edge to Wigan. They have a history of giant killing when they to and they do have a good run of form lately. Manchester City will surely be tired after their hard fought win on Sunday, and they haven’t had as much time to recover. I could easily see Wigan coming out winners, but my prediction is going to be for a draw.
Man City (L, W, W, L, W, W) 2 – 2 Wigan (L, W, L, W, W, D)
